Newly opened: Four Seasons Resort Amaala at Triple Bay

The continued expansion of Saudi’s Red Sea tourism projects comes as the kingdom’s travel and tourism sector contributed US$178 billion to the economy in 2025 after growing 7.4%, according to the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC).

Four Seasons Resort and Residences Amaala at Triple Bay has opened as the first hotel at Saudi Arabia’s luxury wellness destination, Amaala. Developed by Red Sea Global (RSG), the property is the second destination to open under the developer’s regenerative tourism portfolio, following the launch of The Red Sea in 2023.

Located on the Red Sea coast at Triple Bay, the resort was designed by Dubai-based U+A Architects, drawing inspiration from traditional coastal villages with low-rise buildings, landscaped gardens and sea views. Accommodation comprises 202 rooms, suites and villas, alongside 26 branded Four Seasons private residences.

Dining is centred around six restaurants and bars, including Middle Eastern coastal restaurant Maa Social and cliffside venue Rock Baar overlooking a private cove. Other concepts span Mediterranean, Japanese and international cuisine across indoor and open-air settings.

Facilities include the Hylia Wellness & Spa, an Organic Spa Garden offering treatments such as halotherapy and cryotherapy, five swimming pools, a 900-metre private beach and more than 1,000 square metres of indoor and outdoor event space. Experiences range from kayaking and windsurfing to e-biking, climbing, birdwatching and stargazing.

The resort is integrated into the wider Triple Bay destination, giving guests access to the Foster + Partners-designed Corallium Marine Life Institute, Amaala Yacht Club and Marina Village’s shops and restaurants.

John Pagano, Group CEO of Red Sea Global, said: “The debut of our first resort at Amaala is a moment of realisation for us. By delivering this world-class asset to market on schedule, we are demonstrating that regenerative development can combine commercial ambition with meaningful environmental and social impact, while establishing Saudi as a premier global destination for luxury wellness.”

The opening comes a week after RSG completed the expansion of Al Wajh International Airport (EJH), increasing annual passenger capacity to 500,000 and creating a larger gateway for visitors travelling to Amaala. The airport is currently served by Saudia flights from Riyadh and Jeddah, with international services expected to begin soon.

Once complete, Amaala will comprise more than 3,000 keys across 30 hotels, all powered by renewable energy and designed to operate with a zero-carbon footprint. The destination is also aiming to deliver a 30% net positive conservation impact for local ecosystems by 2040, while limiting annual visitor numbers to 500,000 to help protect the surrounding environment.
