Saudi Arabia: Hilton signs 2 midscale hotels in Riyadh

Portfolio in Saudi Arabia tops 100 hotels trading or in the pipeline

Hilton has strengthened its expansion strategy in Saudi Arabia with the signing of two new midscale hotels in Riyadh.

The Hilton Garden Inn Riyadh Olaya and Hampton by Hilton Riyadh Olaya will bring the group’s portfolio in the Kingdom to more than 100 hotels either operating or under development, representing over a quarter of all branded hotel rooms currently under construction nationwide.

Developed in partnership with Saleh Abdulaziz Al Rajhi & Partners, both properties will be located along Olaya Street, one of Riyadh’s most prominent commercial corridors, addressing the city’s growing demand for high-quality, value-driven accommodation.

Situated near Thalia Street, Hilton Garden Inn Riyadh Olaya will house 115 contemporary rooms and suites, complemented by an all-day dining restaurant, a stylish rooftop venue and The Shop, a 24-hour retail hub for snacks and essentials. Additional facilities will include flexible meeting rooms, a fitness centre and an outdoor pool.

To the south, Hampton by Hilton Riyadh Olaya will feature 77 thoughtfully designed guest rooms, offering the brand’s signature friendly service and reliable essentials. Guests will enjoy a complimentary hot breakfast, a social lobby space ideal for informal gatherings, and access to a modern fitness centre.

Commenting on the latest signings, Carlos Khneisser, Hilton’s Vice President, Development, Middle East and Africa, said Saudi continues to present “tremendous opportunities” for the group. He added that the new properties will enhance Hilton’s “midscale offerings in the kingdom as we continue to deliver reliable and friendly stays that meet the evolving needs of today’s travellers.”

Hilton’s expansion in Saudi Arabia supports the goals of Vision 2030, with more than 20 hotels currently open and over 80 in development across the country.

Room at DoubleTree by Hilton Madinah Gate

Recent additions include DoubleTree by Hilton Madinah Gate, which brings 325 rooms and suites to the Madinah Gate project in Knowledge Economic City (KEC), with plans to add Wirgan Al Noor, Tapestry Collection, and DoubleTree Makkah Aziziyah to its Makkah portfolio by year-end, increasing its total key count in the Holy City to more than 4,100.

The group’s regional growth agenda also includes new Waldorf Astoria, Conrad and Canopy by Hilton hotels opening across the UAE, Oman and Egypt, bringing Hilton’s Middle East portfolio to over 180 properties in the coming years.

The company recently announced plans to double its footprint in Oman, with three new properties opened in Muscat and will recently opened its fourth Hilton property in Bahrain, offering 594 studios, suites, and penthouses, each designed with fully equipped kitchens to support longer stays.
