SAUDI ARABIA: Accor to rebrand historic Jeddah property as SwissĂ´tel

Renovations on the heritage property set to complete within two years

Accor, the largest international hotel operator in Saudi Arabia, has signed SwissĂ´tel Jeddah Al Hamra, marking a major addition to its growing portfolio in the kingdom.

Developed in partnership with Arabian Hotels & Catering, the agreement will see the transformation of the long-standing Al Hamra Hotel Jeddah into a five-star SwissĂ´tel property. The four-decade-old hotel will undergo a phased renovation over the next two years, with reopening scheduled for 2027.

The transformation aims to blend the hotel’s rich legacy with contemporary design and an enhanced guest offering “rooted in Swiss mastery, precision and vitality”.

Originally opened in 1984, the 323-key hotel features five dining outlets, an executive club lounge, extensive meeting and event facilities and a grand ballroom designed to host corporate, social and governmental gatherings.

Situated in Jeddah’s trendy Al Hamra district near Palestine Street, the property enjoys proximity to the Corniche and King Fahd Fountain, one of the city’s key diplomatic and commercial hubs, and is just a 15-minute-drive from Jeddah’s international airport.

Raki Phillips, Regional President, Premium, Midscale and Economy, Middle East, Africa & Türkiye at Accor, said: “Once fully renovated and rebranded, Swissôtel Jeddah Al Hamra will set a new benchmark honouring its heritage while embracing a bold and modern future.”
