Oberoi Hotels & Resorts To Open Resort in Saudi’s Wadi Safar

The Oberoi, Wadi Safar is expected to open during H2 2026

The Oberoi, Wadi Safar – a new addition to Saudi Arabia’s evolving luxury hospitality landscape that positions the destination as a gateway to the kingdom’s cultural heartland – is set to open in the second half of 2026.

Developed by Oberoi Hotels & Resorts, the resort will be located adjacent to Diriyah, spread across 62 square kilometres of natural terrain. Designed as a low-density retreat, the property will have 60 rooms and 10 private villas that aim to offer a secluded setting defined by privacy, understated design, and Oberoi’s signature service approach.

The resort will overlook the Royal Equestrian & Polo Club and a 27-hole championship golf course designed by Greg Norman, with architecture and layout oriented to maximise views across the surrounding desert landscape.

Facilities will include a grand ballroom for up to 160 guests, a spa and wellness sanctuary with a dedicated yoga studio, a swimming pool, a kids’ club, a business centre, and five dining venues. Each restaurant will feature outdoor seating, with views across a central water feature or the surrounding escarpment.

Positioned as both a retreat and a destination, The Oberoi, Wadi Safar is expected to appeal to travellers seeking cultural immersion alongside high levels of personalisation and tranquillity, as luxury travel continues to expand into historically significant regions of Saudi Arabia. More
