2026: W Hotels Makes Saudi Arabia Debut with Riyadh Opening

The new 210-room W Riyadh is located in the King Abdullah Financial District

Marriott International’s W Hotels has now officially entered the Saudi Arabian market with the opening of W Riyadh – KAFD.

Located in the thriving King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD), the 210-room property is designed as an urban escape that bridges the city’s business and lifestyle sectors through day-to-night programming and the brand’s signature service.

The hotel’s design, by LW Design, draws heavily from local heritage. Interiors feature stone and veined marble that are intended to reflect Saudi Arabia’s desert and mountain landscapes, alongside geometric textiles inspired by traditional Al Sadu weaving patterns. The lobby is anchored by a six-metre tapestry by Saudi artist Abdulnasser Gharem, while the W Lounge’s circular banquettes and sunken tables are inspired by Bedouin firepit arrangements.

Its accommodation includes 17 suites, two penthouse suites, and the 390 sqm W Penthouse, which features a private gym with steam and sauna facilities. The guestrooms incorporate typography wall art by Gharem and a design installation of illuminated spheres referencing Subha, or traditional prayer beads.

The property also debuts several new dining concepts to Riyadh’s culinary scene. Sira offers Latin American-inspired cuisine cooked over an open fire, while Beni serves as an all-day coffee house and artisanal ice cream parlour. For more casual dining, guests and visitors can choose from Mediterranean-inspired WET Deck by the pool, and Sahari, an outdoor lounge for social events and performances that is scheduled to open later this year.

For business, the hotel has 15 flexible meeting rooms and a ballroom. In terms of wellness facilities, the property features the brand’s AWAY Spa, and a FIT fitness studio.
